Principal Product Designer

Job Summary

Leading a team of senior individual-contributor designers, the full-time Principal Product Designer will manage, coach, and develop design talent while personally tackling complex design challenges and setting the vision for the team's work in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a small team of senior designers, fostering a culture of craft and high performance
• Own and ship design work on high-leverage or ambiguous problems while ensuring quality and consistency across the team's outputs
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing leaders to align design efforts with business objectives

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of design experience, including management of individual contributors
• Demonstrated ability to ship high-quality design in a consumer product or marketplace platform
• Strong craft judgment with a proven track record of providing impactful feedback
• Experience using AI in design processes, including exploration and prototyping
• Ability to balance personal design contributions with effective team leadership
