Principal Product Technologist

Job Summary

As the technical heartbeat of the Product Development Transformation team, the full-time remote Principal Product Technologist will design and develop AI-powered tools to enhance product discovery, facilitate structured experimentation, and drive informed decision-making across Zillow's product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build and iterate on AI-powered tools that enable faster learning and better decision-making for product teams
• Rapidly prototype solutions to compress key stages of the product development cycle
• Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to create sustainable architectural patterns and data pipelines

Required qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in software engineering, technical product development, or a related discipline
• Deep experience in designing and building AI-powered systems, including agentic architectures and tool integration patterns
• Proven ability to translate organizational challenges into scalable technical solutions
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing beyond formal authority
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaborative development tooling
