Principal Production Engineer
Job Summary
To support the scaling of a data platform for millions of developers, the full-time remote Principal Production Engineer will lead design reviews, develop SDKs and tooling, and establish reliability strategies for database platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with product teams to shape data modeling and access for optimal application performance
- Design and ship SDKs and client libraries to enhance application development
- Set and define reliability strategies, including SLOs and operational standards for database systems
Required qualifications
- 11+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related technical discipline with production software coding experience in languages such as C, Java, or Python
- 5+ years of experience operating large-scale distributed systems in production, including on-call rotation participation
- Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery and load shedding plans
- Proven ability to influence engineering decisions and engage in system design discussions
- Experience with stateful services on managed cloud data stores and diagnosing scalability problems
