Job Summary

To support cutting-edge AI systems, the remote freelance Principal Python Engineer will design and build data pipelines, annotation tooling, and evaluation systems while optimizing high-performance Python systems for large-scale infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize Python systems for AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows
• Develop full-stack tooling and backend services for data annotation, validation, and quality control
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance model training and evaluation workflows

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in production Python for large-scale infrastructure or platform engineering
• Strong background in systems programming and distributed computing systems
• Deep understanding of Python internals, including GIL limitations and performance optimization
• Experience managing concurrency with advanced asynchronous patterns
• Ability to commit 20-40 hours per week
