Job Summary

Working remotely on a flexible contract basis, a Principal Python Engineer will design and build high-performance Python systems for AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows, focusing on optimizing production codebases and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize Python systems for AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows
• Develop full-stack tooling and backend services for data annotation and quality control
• Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation workflows

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in production Python for large-scale infrastructure or platform engineering
• Strong systems programming background with expertise in designing distributed computing systems
• Deep understanding of Python internals, including GIL limitations and performance optimization
• Able to drive technical strategy and architectural decisions effectively
• Available to commit 20-40 hours per week
