Principal Python Engineer

Job Summary

To support advanced AI systems, the fully remote Principal Python Engineer will design and optimize high-performance Python data pipelines, develop backend services for data annotation, and improve production code reliability while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize Python systems for AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows
• Develop full-stack tooling and backend services for large-scale data annotation and quality control
• Drive architectural and system design decisions through technical reviews and collaboration with teams

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in production Python for large-scale infrastructure or platform engineering
• Strong systems programming background with expertise in designing distributed computing systems
• Deep knowledge of Python internals, GIL limitations, and performance optimization for compute-heavy workloads
• Experience managing concurrency with advanced asynchronous patterns
• Availability to commit 20-40 hours per week
