Principal Python Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of cutting-edge AI systems, the Principal Python Engineer will work remotely on a flexible contract basis, focusing on designing and optimizing high-performance Python systems for AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize Python systems for AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows
• Develop full-stack tooling and backend services for large-scale data annotation and quality control
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support model training and evaluation workflows

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in production Python for large-scale infrastructure or platform engineering
• Strong systems programming background with expertise in designing distributed computing systems
• Deep understanding of Python internals, including GIL limitations and performance optimization
• Able to drive technical strategy and architectural decisions effectively
• Availability to commit 20-40 hours per week
