Principal QA Automation Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing QA practice, the remote Principal QA Automation Engineer will lead a distributed team, manage automation strategies, and ensure quality standards across all products while being hands-on in coding and testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Directly manage a distributed team of QA automation engineers, including hiring, performance management, and career development
• Architect, build, and maintain automation frameworks for UI and API testing, leveraging tools such as Playwright
• Integrate automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with DevOps to ensure scalability and efficiency

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Test Automation, or Software Development in Test (SDET) roles
• Proven hands-on expertise with Playwright for UI and API test automation
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Java for test framework development
• Experience in a formal team lead or engineering management role with direct reports
• Bilingual in Spanish and English, with advanced proficiency in both languages
