Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Research Scientist to support the evolution of Wikimedia projects and their governance model.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a real-time command of the global research landscape regarding Wikipedia quality and integrity
• Lead a strategic research portfolio focused on knowledge integrity
• Mentor contributors to execute high-impact scientific projects and translate research findings into actionable strategies

Required Qualifications

• PhD degree and a minimum of five years of work experience in a related field
• 3 or more years of strategic technical leadership in large organizations or academia
• Advanced proficiency in AI, NLP, or ML frameworks, or mastery of mixed-method research applied to online community governance
• Proven ability to perform rapid audits of research and identify methodological flaws
• A track record of scholarly publications and service to the research and scientific communities
