Principal Research Scientist

Job Summary

Working remotely on a part-time basis, the Principal Research Scientist will collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to research and develop radiation transport models, while also documenting and presenting findings to the modeling community.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance and expand capabilities of atmospheric radiative transfer models for advanced multi-physics applications
• Document research findings and present work to team members and the broader modeling community
• Stay updated on advancements in numerical methods and the field of radiative transfer and remote sensing

Required qualifications

• 20+ years of experience in scientific modeling and analysis
• Extensive research experience in atmospheric radiative transfer, including peer-reviewed publications
• Expert knowledge of Monte Carlo atmospheric scattering models
• Ph.D. in engineering or a scientific discipline
• An active Secret security clearance is required for this position
