Principal Research Scientist

Job Summary

To support advanced modeling initiatives, the part-time remote Principal Research Scientist will collaborate with a team to research and develop atmospheric radiative transfer models while documenting and presenting findings to the scientific community.

Key responsibilities

• Improve and enhance capabilities of atmospheric radiative transfer models within a multi-physics framework
• Document and present research findings to team members and the broader modeling community
• Stay updated on advancements in numerical methods and the field of radiative transfer and remote sensing

Required qualifications

• 20+ years of experience in scientific modeling and analysis
• Extensive research background in atmospheric radiative transfer, including peer-reviewed publications
• Expert knowledge of Monte Carlo atmospheric scattering models
• Ph.D. in an engineering or scientific discipline
• Active Secret security clearance
