Principal Robotics Engineer
Job Summary
To drive technical direction across the autonomy software stack, the full-time Principal Robotics Engineer will architect production-grade systems in perception, localization, planning, and control, while mentoring engineers and ensuring high software quality in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead technical work in autonomy stack components, addressing algorithmic and systems bottlenecks
- Define and enforce stable API contracts and enhance production software quality through rigorous testing and code review
- Mentor engineers and align technical direction across multiple teams without formal authority
Required qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent industry experience
- 10+ years of experience in production robotics or autonomy software with significant technical impact
- Deep expertise in modern C++ and Python, as well as strong command of ROS/ROS2, Linux, and Git
- Experience in architecting large-scale autonomy systems across perception, SLAM/localization, planning, and control
- Proven ability to lead complex technical efforts and influence direction across teams
