Job Summary
Leading the design and execution of complex software systems for autonomous platforms, the full-time Principal Robotics Software Engineer will provide technical leadership, guide architectural decisions, and collaborate across multiple engineering groups in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Drive the technical vision and software architecture for multi-quarter robotics initiatives, establishing design patterns and engineering best practices
- Architect and maintain high-performance, fault-tolerant software systems for robotics, focusing on areas such as motion planning and controls
- Mentor engineers and ensure software quality through rigorous coding standards, automated testing, and real-world deployment protocols
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years in a Principal or Staff-level role within robotics or autonomous vehicles
- Expert-level proficiency in modern C++ and Python within Linux-based environments
- Deep experience with core robotics frameworks such as ROS/ROS 2 and domains like motion planning and localization
- Demonstrated experience with multi-threaded C++ applications and hardware interfacing (e.g., LIDAR, cameras)
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field
