Job Summary
Leading research into privacy-enhancing technologies, the full-time remote Principal Scientist in Differential Privacy will direct technical work, author public-facing reports, and serve as the primary technical liaison with NIST staff to advance sensitive data sharing and protection.
Key responsibilities
- Provide overall technical leadership across various task areas related to privacy-preserving technologies
- Lead the design and authoring of reports that formalize privacy models and solutions
- Define formal metrics for evaluating de-identified data regarding utility, fidelity, and privacy
Required qualifications
- Ph.D. in computer science focusing on differential privacy or a related field
- Minimum 10 years' experience in privacy-preserving algorithms
- Strong applied mathematics background with proficiency in developing efficient algorithms
- Experience with public technology benchmarking exercises
- Notable publications and contributions in the field of differential privacy
