Principal Security Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the security engineering function end-to-end, the full-time remote Principal Security Engineer will define platform strategy, implement security measures across infrastructure and applications, and mentor junior engineers while focusing on detection, response, and AI-powered security tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and hands-on engineering for detection and response platforms, including onboarding log sources and maintaining SOAR tooling
• Embed security into the SDLC and own the vulnerability management program at both host and application levels
• Mentor junior engineers and define security engineering standards across the organization

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years in security engineering with demonstrated growth into technical leadership
• Hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as DataDog or ELK
• Deep expertise in AWS security and IAM
• Fundamentals of application security, including threat modeling and secure SDLC practices
• Experience building with AI/LLM APIs and knowledge of LLM security risks
