Principal Site Reliability Engineer

Job Summary

Working primarily remotely with occasional visits to the Bristol office or London, the full-time Principal Site Reliability Engineer will partner with engineering teams to design resilient services, define and promote SRE practices, and lead investigations into performance bottlenecks while enhancing automation and tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Engineering teams to design resilient services and promote SRE practices
• Lead investigations into performance bottlenecks and improve observability through various metrics and tools
• Build and enhance automation, deployment tooling, and infrastructure-as-code for improved reliability

Required qualifications

• Experience in Site Reliability Engineering or senior backend/software engineering roles
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Proficiency in containers and orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes
• Strong scripting or programming skills in languages such as Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
