Principal Software Development Engineer

Job Summary

As a Principal Software Development Engineer on the Developer Platform team, this full-time remote position will define the technical vision for an open developer ecosystem, lead API and SDK design, and influence platform strategy while mentoring senior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the platform roadmap, focusing on API design, SDK frameworks, and extensibility for third-party developers
• Lead the technical strategy for evolving the Developer Portal front-end platform into decoupled, independently deployable applications
• Establish API governance and best practices while partnering with stakeholders to prioritize platform capabilities that support growth

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 3-5+ years in a principal or staff role leading front-end or platform architecture
• 6+ years of experience in designing, building, and operating distributed systems
• Deep expertise in modern front-end technologies, including React, HTML, and CSS
• Experience owning the technical strategy for complex web platforms and driving platform-wide decisions
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred
