Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Software Engineer I / II specializing in Query Engine and Database Internals.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, lead, and contribute to the development of data-intensive enhancements in Elasticsearch
• Research and implement the latest features, data structures, and algorithms to enhance user capabilities
• Collaborate with partners and product teams to build a strategic vision for ES|QL and the compute engine

Required Qualifications

• Experience leading technical projects in data and enterprise architecture
• Proven knowledge in building sophisticated technical infrastructures and software systems
• Hands-on experience with search and analytics APIs, such as Elasticsearch and Splunk SPL
• Strong skills in core Java and familiarity with data structures and concurrency constructs
• Experience with data storage technologies like Elasticsearch, Solr, or PostgreSQL
