Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Software Engineer - OpenShift Service Mesh - Istio.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with peers and the Istio community on the design and development of features, enhancements, and bug fixes within Istio
• Mentor and coach junior team members, and work with cross-functional teams
• Engage with support and documentation teams to resolve customer issues and improve documentation

Required Qualifications

• Highly experienced in software development
• 3+ years of experience programming with Go, including implementing controllers and/or operators on Kubernetes
• 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, and other cloud platforms
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols such as TCP, TLS, HTTP, and HTTPS
• Experience contributing to an open source project/community is a plus
