Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the design and implementation of secure and highly available cloud infrastructure, the full-time remote Principal Software Engineer on the Foundations Team will enhance deployment velocity and optimize system performance while mentoring other engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and build secure, fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure on public cloud services
• Continuously improve system performance and deploy optimizations for highly-trafficked services
• Lead the evolution of Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines, reducing complexity and increasing resilience

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in professional software development with a focus on backend systems and cloud platforms
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, Typescript, or Ruby
• Deep experience architecting secure solutions on cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
• Proven experience in automated provisioning using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
• B.S. or Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
