Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Transforming the reliability of large-scale systems, the full-time remote Principal Software Engineer will lead engineering initiatives to evolve the Site Reliability Engineering organization, focusing on building durable platforms and self-healing systems while mentoring senior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and code with the team to treat reliability as a product feature
• Architect systems to prevent high-stakes outages and define "Golden Paths" for cloud migration
• Mentor Senior and Staff SREs and advocate for "Error Budgets" to influence product roadmaps

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in large-scale distributed systems, software engineering, or infrastructure roles
• Proficiency in Go or Python with a strong "code-first" approach
• Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform for managing complex cloud environments
• Proven technical leadership in building global, active-active distributed systems
• Experience as a Lead Incident Commander for tier-0 global outages
