Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the AI architecture in a fully remote capacity, the Principal Software Engineer (AI Specialist Track) will independently make AI architecture decisions, mentor team members, and ship agentic product surfaces that enhance user experience in legal depositions.

Key responsibilities:

• Set and model agentic-first development patterns while mentoring team members in AI fluency
• Make independent AI architecture decisions, including model selection and retrieval design, while co-authoring architecture decision records
• Evaluate product features for accuracy and success, ensuring compliance with production launch standards

Required qualifications:

• Proven experience in shipping agentic systems that perform meaningful tasks in production with evaluation discipline
• Demonstrated principal-tier judgment in AI architecture, including model selection and agent orchestration
• Experience in compliance-sensitive domains such as legal, healthcare, or finance, with a focus on guardrails for AI outputs
