Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Agent Policy Fabric Core Platform, the full-time role will focus on building and maturing a governance layer for agentic systems, including developing runtime policy verification and ensuring robust core platform functionality, with options for remote work.

Key responsibilities:

• Own and enhance APF Core Services, including the Runtime Policy Verifier and authorization APIs
• Design and implement policy projections and ensure compatibility with OpenShell-native runtime policies
• Drive architecture maturity by defining versioning, schema compatibility, and engineering review artifacts

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) with 15+ years in systems software, security engineering, or policy infrastructure
• Strong programming skills in Rust, Go, C++, or Python, with experience in designing production services and APIs
• Familiarity with Linux systems, service-to-service APIs, and cloud deployment environments
• Practical experience in security engineering, including cryptographic signatures and zero-trust architecture
• Ability to write technical specifications and align engineering teams on architecture decisions
