Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Driving technical direction and delivering high-quality software solutions, the full-time remote Principal Software Engineer will lead design and implementation of major features, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product management in the Power and Energy Transition product suite.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of complex features and system improvements, ensuring production-grade code quality
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design discussions while collaborating with product management on technical roadmap planning
• Champion best practices in testing, observability, and operational readiness, while addressing production incidents and engineering challenges

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with complex, production-grade systems at scale
• Strong hands-on expertise in technologies such as Python, TypeScript/Angular, RDBMS, or AWS
• Proven ability to lead technical design and architecture across multi-component systems
• Experience with Kubernetes and a cloud platform (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure) for at least 1 year
• Demonstrated code quality discipline and operational best practices with a strong testing culture
