Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Principal Software Engineer (SRE) for a full-time remote position, responsible for leading reliability initiatives, shaping reliability strategy, and serving as a technical authority to ensure the long-term reliability and operational excellence of the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of reliability strategies for large-scale distributed systems primarily using Java
• Drive operational excellence by managing incident responses and promoting blameless post-incident reviews
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and operability are prioritized in system design

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, site reliability engineering, or systems engineering roles
• Extensive proficiency in Java and experience operating complex, distributed systems in production
• Ability to work east coast (EST) hours and participate in an on-call rotation once every 10 weeks
• Strong understanding of incident management, service reliability, and performance engineering
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives across teams and influence design decisions
