Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer for a full-time remote position to maintain and strategically modernize high-throughput payment processing systems, driving platform migration and developing robust payment integrations with third-party gateways.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and modernize payment processing systems handling real-time financial transactions
• Drive platform migration efforts, including transitioning a core Windows C++ authorization gateway to Linux
• Develop and implement security-critical features and optimize transaction processing performance

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of professional C++ development experience in production environments
• Strong understanding of systems programming, including memory management and performance optimization
• Experience with legacy codebases and a proactive approach to modernization
• Familiarity with payment processing systems and PCI-DSS compliance
• Proficiency with build systems, particularly Bazel, and experience in Linux/Unix environments
