Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Remote in the US, the full-time Principal Software Engineer will design and implement innovative software solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and enhance the Couchbase platform's capabilities for operational, analytical, and AI workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop software features to improve the Couchbase platform
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to define technical requirements and project scope
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of continuous improvement

Required qualifications

• Proven experience in software development with a strong focus on cloud-based applications
• Expertise in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Go
• Experience with database technologies and distributed systems
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
