Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Principal Software Engineer, Tech Lead - Platform to work full-time remotely, responsible for owning and evolving the data compute environment on AWS, making architectural decisions, and enabling AI-ready data platforms for diverse user groups.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve the next-generation architecture for batch, streaming, ML, and AI workloads
• Build the semantic layer, feature store, and data ontology for AI applications, ensuring self-service access
• Serve as the primary technical partner, developing guides and documentation to facilitate user engagement

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform roles, including 2 years in a technical lead or architecture capacity
• Expertise with Databricks, AWS EMR, Delta Lake, Spark (PySpark), and SQL
• Proven experience designing Lakehouse architectures and large-scale ELT/ETL pipelines
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform
• Strong understanding of data governance, data modeling, and cloud security best practices
