Principal Software Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the evolution of authentication and authorization, the fully remote Principal Software Engineer will own the technical vision and architecture for Sezzle's platform, focusing on scalable backend services and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and efficient identity management solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision and roadmap for the authentication and authorization platform, including an API auth gateway and identity services
- Architect, design, and build scalable auth services and gateway components primarily in Golang, leveraging AWS and modern distributed patterns
- Design and lead phased, zero-downtime migrations of auth traffic and functionality, ensuring safety mechanisms are in place
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant backend expertise
- Deep hands-on expertise in authentication and authorization systems, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and JWT
- Experience designing and operating an API gateway or auth proxy at scale
- Strong proficiency in Golang, with experience in building and maintaining RESTful APIs
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field
