Principal Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support a growing team, the full-time Principal Software Engineer will own architecture across products and platforms, lead technology evaluations, and mentor engineers while working remotely in Canada.
Key responsibilities
- Define and evolve platform and application architecture, including service boundaries and integration patterns
- Introduce new technologies and best practices while establishing standards for design, testing, and production readiness
- Guide architecture for global cloud deployments and support FedRAMP certification readiness
Required qualifications
- Ten years of overall experience, with at least five years as a Staff or Principal engineer at B2B SaaS startups
- Strong working knowledge of Java/J2EE, Oracle, Postgres, AWS, GCP, Azure, and modern frontend frameworks like React
- Proven success in setting architectural direction and making durable technical decisions across multiple teams
- Experience with global cloud systems and production operations at scale, including FedRAMP or comparable regulated environments
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field; a master's degree is preferred
