Principal Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support a cross-functional development team, the full-time Principal Software Engineer will own architecture across products and platforms, introduce new technologies and best practices, and solve complex cross-team problems in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Define and evolve platform and application architecture, including service boundaries and API standards
- Evaluate and introduce new technologies while establishing best practices in design, testing, and production readiness
- Mentor engineers across teams and drive alignment across stakeholders to unblock complex initiatives
Required qualifications
- Ten years of overall experience, with at least five years as a Staff or Principal engineer at B2B SaaS startups
- Strong working knowledge of Java/J2EE, Oracle, Postgres, AWS, GCP, Azure, and modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js)
- Proven success in setting architectural direction and making durable technical decisions across multiple teams
- Experience with global cloud systems and production operations at scale, including FedRAMP/government cloud certification
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field; master's degree preferred
