Principal Software Engineer
Job Summary
To shape the future of enterprise software architecture, the full-time remote Principal Software Engineer will define platform evolution, develop modernization strategies, and remain hands-on in critical design and development tasks while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Define and guide the evolution of the platform architecture to enhance scalability, reliability, and performance
- Develop a phased modernization approach that aligns future architecture with current business commitments
- Lead technical design and code reviews while mentoring engineers and establishing engineering standards
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on scalable enterprise applications
- Proven experience at a Principal, Staff, Architect, or equivalent technical leadership level
- Expert-level proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, with knowledge of Python
- Strong experience with AWS, cloud-native application design, and microservices architecture
