Principal Software Engineer
Job Summary
As a technical leader in a full-time remote role, the Principal Software Development Engineer will architect and drive the design of complex web applications and services while influencing cross-team architecture and mentoring engineers to enhance Zillow Rentals' internal tooling and data-product ecosystem.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and design high-scale web applications and services, including user interfaces, APIs, and cloud infrastructure
- Lead technical direction for multi-team initiatives, establishing engineering standards and best practices
- Collaborate with product management and cross-functional partners to translate business objectives into actionable engineering plans
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with production web applications
- Proven experience in leading the technical design and delivery of complex systems involving multiple teams
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and influencing engineering practices in an agile environment
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
