Principal Software Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a creative and enthusiastic Principal Software Systems Engineer on a contract basis, this remote role will focus on designing and analyzing satellite and aerospace systems while driving the development of customer satellite systems and overseeing flight software delivery throughout the full lifecycle of development.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform systems engineering tasks for satellite software systems, including requirements development, system design, and verification planning
- Support spacecraft development product roadmap, including design adjustments and alignment with future business captures
- Conduct necessary systems engineering activities to build, maintain, and evolve spacecraft products while promoting cost savings through design reuse
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering, Math) or related scientific areas; Master's preferred
- A minimum of 15 years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 12 years with a master's degree in aerospace software systems
- Proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams in aerospace projects from conceptual design to operations
- Familiarity with space mission architectures and experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools
- Must be a U.S. citizen
