Principal SRE Networking

Job Summary

Leading technical initiatives, the full-time Principal SRE Networking will design, build, and automate network infrastructure and services to ensure the reliability of the global Elastic network infrastructure, working remotely across distributed locations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and automate network infrastructure focusing on Layer 2/3/4 of the TCP/IP stack to guarantee reliability
• Develop and maintain software and tooling to support Network Infrastructure as Code principles while scaling the global platform network
• Collaborate with teams to prevent customer impact from major incidents and manage prioritized problem resolutions

Required qualifications

• Strong networking skills with knowledge of protocols such as IP/IPv6, TCP/UDP, BGP, and DNS
• Experience in building and automating networks using tools like Terraform and Ansible
• Familiarity with public cloud service provider network components such as load balancers and VPN connectivity
• Site-Reliability Engineering experience with a focus on operational excellence and incident management
• Proven ability to work in distributed teams and effectively communicate in an inclusive environment
