Principal VMware Systems Administrator
Job Summary
Providing ongoing Systems Administration support, the full-time Principal VMware Systems Administrator will manage the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of VMware environments while advising on storage, database systems, and network connectivity across multiple locations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead Systems Administration efforts, ensuring alignment of systems design with corporate business objectives and guiding less experienced team members
- Translate long-term business requirements into systems and infrastructure design while providing technical advisory on complex issues across the organization
- Design high-availability VMware solutions and develop migration strategies, ensuring effective integration into operational support practices
Required qualifications
- BA/BS degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's degree preferred
- Expert-level expertise in VMware systems administration and enterprise infrastructure design
- Proven leadership ability in technical teams and experience with Microsoft and Linux Server clustering
- Familiarity with disaster recovery and high availability in cloud environments such as Oracle OCI and Microsoft Azure
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) and VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certifications required
