Job Summary

Seeking a detail-oriented Print Editor, Opinions, this full-time contract position will manage the design and layout of daily print pages, proofread content for clarity and style, and collaborate with the Opinions editing and visuals teams, either onsite in Washington, D.C., or remotely within the U.S.

Key responsibilities

• Design and lay out simple print pages using templates while ensuring adherence to style and brand standards
• Proofread print pages for accuracy, grammar, and clarity, incorporating final editing notes by deadlines
• Collaborate with editors and production teams to maintain high-quality print products under tight deadlines

Required qualifications

• Experience working in news organizations with dedicated print products, preferably daily publications
• Familiarity with design tools such as M thode, Roxen, and InDesign
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments efficiently
• Strong news judgment and a passion for print design and production
• Comfort with learning new technologies and adapting to production workflows
