Prior Authorization Manager

Job Summary

To support a growing network of cardiology practices, the full-time Prior Authorization Manager will oversee authorization operations, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with authorization workflows while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Own and improve the authorization tracker, ensuring data integrity and monitoring authorization metrics across practice partners
• Serve as the primary liaison with third-party vendors, enforcing service level agreements and conducting performance reviews
• Coordinate authorization workflows for new practice partners, ensuring operational readiness at launch

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in prior authorization, revenue cycle, or medical billing, preferably in cardiology
• Demonstrated experience managing external authorization vendors and holding them to defined SLAs
• Strong knowledge of commercial and government payer authorization requirements for cardiovascular services
• Proficiency with athenaOne or comparable EHR/practice management platforms
• Experience with cardiac imaging services and cardiology procedure authorizations is highly desirable
