Prior Authorization Representative

Job Summary

Working remotely Monday through Friday, the full-time Prior Authorization Representative will manage the authorization process for biopsies, ensuring accurate patient data and maintaining relationships with insurance companies while utilizing EPIC systems.

Key responsibilities

• Validate patient information, scheduled tests, and insurance details to ensure accurate authorization records
• Communicate professionally with provider offices, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate the authorization process
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to support various authorization processes across multiple BJC hospitals

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare or insurance setting
• Familiarity with insurance carriers and Medicare guidelines
• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive position with a high level of attention to detail
• Experience with EPIC systems is preferred
