Job Summary
Owning the global privacy program, the full-time Privacy Attorney will manage compliance with privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA, draft and improve privacy policies, and partner with various teams to embed privacy governance in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the global privacy program, ensuring compliance with various privacy laws and monitoring new regulations
- Draft and maintain privacy-related documents, including policies, data maps, and internal guidance
- Serve as the primary contact for privacy incidents and manage privacy-related inquiries from regulators and customers
Required qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school with active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- Seven or more years of legal experience focused on privacy and data protection, with in-house experience at a technology company
- In-depth knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other global privacy frameworks
- Experience in operating a privacy program, including assessments and advising on privacy by design
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills for data processing agreements and commercial contracts
