Job Summary
Supporting the compliance efforts of the Privacy Office, the full-time remote Privacy Compliance Specialist will research privacy issues, track legislative developments, and assist management in ensuring adherence to privacy regulations and best practices.
Key responsibilities
- Research and track privacy requirements related to laws and regulations impacting company operations
- Monitor new privacy laws, present findings to management, and assist with compliance assessments across internal departments
- Prepare responses for external audits and assist with the maintenance of privacy policies and training for staff
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, History, Political Science, or equivalent; Master's in Health Care Administration or legal degree preferred
- 2-4 years of experience in regulatory compliance within a healthcare or insurance environment, with knowledge of HIPAA and other privacy regulations
- Experience with health insurance contracts and strong research skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel; familiarity with research tools like Westlaw is desired
- Strong analytical and writing skills, with an understanding of company systems and procedures preferred
