Prize Designer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote First-Principles Prize Designer, who will lead the development of innovative global incentive competitions by employing research, quantitative reasoning, and design thinking to create impactful competition designs aimed at addressing humanity's challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design and development of XPRIZE competitions, from problem framing to final design documentation
• Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines while coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and quality
• Engage with external experts and sponsors, facilitating workshops and maintaining productive relationships to inform design choices

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in a STEM field required; recent PhD/post-doc encouraged, or equivalent analytical experience in rigorous, research-driven fields
• Strong first-principles reasoning and ability to build understanding of unfamiliar problems quickly
• Demonstrated experience in analytical problem-solving within engineering, physical or life sciences, data science, or economics
• Proficiency in project management, including budgeting, execution, and stakeholder communication
• Familiarity with research platforms and tools, and strong technical presentation skills for diverse audiences
