Product Design Lead

Job Summary

Owning the design vision at Schoolhouse, the full-time remote Product Design Lead will rapidly scope new features, manage the full design stack from UX to visuals in Figma, and collaborate closely with engineers and students to drive product initiatives from concept to execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead scoping and end-to-end design of new features for learners and tutors, ensuring a balance of craft, speed, and impact
• Own visual and graphic design for brand identity and external communications, maintaining a cohesive design system
• Conduct user research and community engagement to ground design work in the needs of high-school aged learners and tutors

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of product design experience, preferably as a solo designer for an early-stage startup or managing large design projects end-to-end
• Proficiency in Figma and a strong product mindset with an eye for visual design
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
• Experience thriving in fast-paced startup environments, embracing ambiguity, and taking significant ownership
• Availability to work in a US timezone
