Job Summary

A company is looking for a Production Editor (remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Oversees production editorial work from manuscript through bound book for various formats
• Hires and manages freelance copyeditors, proofreaders, and indexers, ensuring quality control
• Collaborates with editors, designers, and authors to resolve issues and streamline processes

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of prior production editorial work experience, preferably in trade book publishing
• Proficiency in basic computer programs, including Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
• Solid understanding of copyediting and proofreading standards, including the Chicago Manual of Style
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure
• College degree or equivalent work experience
