A company is looking for a Production Editor (remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Oversees the production editorial process from manuscript to bound book for various formats
• Hires and manages freelance copyeditors, proofreaders, and indexers while ensuring quality control
• Collaborates with team members to resolve issues and maintains project timelines under tight deadlines

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of production editorial work experience, preferably in trade book publishing
• Proficient in basic computer programs, including Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
• Solid understanding of copyediting and proofreading standards, including the Chicago Manual of Style
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure
• College degree or equivalent work experience
