Profee Coding Quality Auditor

Job Summary

To ensure compliance and optimal reimbursements, the full-time Profee Coding Quality Auditor will perform complex retrospective analyses of medical record documentation, identify coding errors, and provide technical support and training to internal coding staff, all while working remotely from within the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct complex analyses of medical records to identify coding and billing errors according to established guidelines
• Provide second-level reviews of diagnosis and procedure codes to ensure compliance with legal and procedural policies
• Research and respond to inquiries regarding compliance, coding denials, and billable services

Required qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Profee coding experience or auditing in an acute care facility or multispecialty clinics
• Recognized coding credential from AHIMA or AAPC, with CPC or CCS preferred
• Experience with telecommuting and electronic medical records systems strongly preferred
• Familiarity with hospital outpatient billing processes and hospital APC assignment
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
