Profee Coding Quality Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure compliance and optimal reimbursements, the full-time Profee Coding Quality Specialist will perform complex retrospective analyses of medical record documentation, provide technical support and training to coding staff, and maintain quality assurance standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct retrospective analysis of coding and billing to identify errors and inconsistencies
• Provide second-level reviews of diagnosis and procedure codes to ensure compliance with regulations
• Train internal coding staff on compliance and coding practices while maintaining QA percentages

Required qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Profee coding experience or auditing in acute care or multispecialty clinics
• Recognized coding credential from AHIMA or AAPC, with CPC or CCS preferred
• Experience with electronic medical records systems and telecommuting
• Familiarity with hospital outpatient billing processes and APC assignment
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
