Professional Fee Coder

Job Summary

To support independent healthcare providers, the full-time Professional Fee Coder will manage charge entry, coding of clinical information, and maintain compliance with coding regulations while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and review charge entry data, identifying and investigating incomplete or missing charges
• Abstract clinical information and translate medical documentation into accurate diagnoses and procedural codes
• Maintain current knowledge of coding rules and regulations, reviewing coding denials and advising on resolutions

Required qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of coding and classification systems, including AMA and CMS guidelines
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Ability to conduct training for physicians and staff on coding and documentation practices
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting medical information and coding accuracy
• Experience in billing functions, including claim submission and denial resolution
