Program Officer, Agriculture Innovation

Job Summary

To support the adoption of Agricultural Land Management (ALM) and Livestock Systems (LS) methodologies, the remote Program Officer, Agriculture Innovation will engage stakeholders, develop methodologies, and assist in the digitization of monitoring and reporting processes within the VCS Program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide stakeholder support and capacity building for project proponents and VVBs, including developing informational resources and conducting training
• Contribute to methodology development and technical support for VCS project certification, addressing public comments and enhancing existing methodologies
• Assist in the digitization of methodologies and engage in discussions to deploy digital monitoring and reporting for ALM and LS projects

Required qualifications

• At least three years of experience in GHG accounting in agriculture and livestock production systems
• A B.S. degree in agronomy, animal, or environmental sciences, with a preference for an M.S
• Strong understanding of soil carbon and GHG measurement, monitoring, and modeling in agricultural contexts
• Hands-on experience with carbon markets and familiarity with carbon credit methodologies
• Proficiency in English, with strong communication skills to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
