Project Accounting Consultant

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Project Accounting Consultant specializing in government contracts, this remote, full-time position will manage project setup, cost tracking, compliance, and financial reporting while ensuring adherence to federal regulations.

Key responsibilities:

• Establish compliant project structures in the ERP system and collaborate with relevant teams for accurate project coding and cost allocation
• Monitor project costs, prepare invoices in compliance with contract terms, and support project managers with performance metrics
• Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and CAS requirements while providing audit support and recommending process improvements

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of project accounting experience
• Solid knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA requirements
• Proficiency with government contractor ERP systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint)
• Proven ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
